Each month, the Faith and Politics study group selects, reads, and discusses a book that relates to these two concepts.  The readings have been informative and rewarding followed by discussions that have been lively and stimulating.  Recently, the group has been able to meet and listen to some notable authors including Steven Miles, Scott Ritter, William Beaman, Thomas Friedman, E. J. Dionne, Jack Nelson Pallmeyer and James Douglass.

Faith and Politics meets on the first Sunday of each month, September through May, at 7:00 P.M. in the Garden Court at St. Luke.  Meetings are open and all are welcome to participate.

ql-1.jpg - 12.76 Kb Our book for February is Winner Take All Politics, by Jacob Hacker and Paul Pierson. Bill Moyers spoke of this last Friday and Dick Lundy said that he would help lead the discussion. This book identifies the real culprit behind one of the great ecomomic crimes of our time - the growing inequality of incomes between the vast majority of Americans and the richest rich. Elizabeth Warren says, “It is a must reading for anyone who wants to undersatnd how Washington stopped working for the middle class.” We will meet in St Luke’s West room on February 12 at 6:30 pm. Don’t miss this.
