The Financial and Emotional Costs of War

Thursday, July 15, 7:00-8:30 pm

The Economics of Making War – A Spiritual Perspective,
Tom White, Edina resident, former corporate consultant, active peace and justice worker, and member of the Minnesota Alliance of Peacemakers, will explore the growing disparity between US military spending and the resources available for our growing domestic and global needs.

Factoid: The Pentagon currently spends $1million per minute and over $2 billion per day while millions are hungry and homeless.

“Hopefully by linking my involvement with social causes to my spiritual journey you may better understand my passion and maybe you too will find your actions are an expression of your religious beliefs.”

“I am going to destroy some myths, raise some questions, rock some boats, possibly make some of you uncomfortable, but hopefully raise your awareness and call you
to action.  I will state some facts and the saddest thing about them is that they are
true…”   Tom White

The Emotional and Personal Cost of War
Larry Johnson, President of Minnesota Veterans for Peace, Vietnam War medic, conscientious objector, story teller by trade, and peace activist by choice.

Larry will speak from his own experience and that of fellow veterans of the hidden, damaging emotional and personal cost of war to veterans and their loved ones.

Both presenters will answer questions following their presentations.
