A TIME OF CENTERING  Macrina Wiederkehr, Seven Sacred Pauses
"Sacred is the pause that draws us into stillness.  Nourishing are the moments when we step away from busyness.  Teach us the wisdom of pausing.  Reveal to us the goodness of stopping to breathe.  Bring to our memory the truth that we are the temple out of which you pour your gifts into the world.  We are the temple from which you sing your songs.  We are the temple out of which you bless.  Enable us to listen to the renewal you are trying to bring about in us and through us.  May we be reverent with each temple we meet and greet this day.  May all the good that we long for come to pass."

*HYMN OF RESPONSE "Blest Be the Tie That Binds"

Blest be the tie that binds
Our hearts in Christian love;
The fellowship of kindred minds
What peace can go above?

We share our mutual woes
Our mutual burdens bear,
And often for each other flows
The sympathizing tear.

With courage and with cheer
Ahead we'll walk the way
Moved by our friends beyond our fears
To work for God's new day.

Until we meet again
We'll have each other near
In prayer and thought we'll hold our friends
To us who are so dear.

*BENEDICTION     Please join hands with the persons next to you for the benediction and response.

RESPONSE Sung “Amen”

THOUGHT FOR THE JOURNEY HOME
"I long to live in the present moment. I want to stop trying to control the hours so that new paths of inspiration are free to unfold within me. I want to remember that I have the potential to be a blessing in the lives of those with whom I live and work. Take my scattered thoughts, my fragmented moments. Breathe into them and draw them into your centered heart. Open my eyes that I may see the grace that waits for me in every moment. You are the Source of every moment's blessing. Teach me to live awake. Anoint the moments of my day. May this prayer come true in my life." —Macrina Wiederkehr, Seven Sacred Pauses
