Kate Niemisto joined the St. Luke staff in 2013. As the accompanist, she leads worship music from the piano at weekly services and choir rehearsals.  She is grateful to have found such a welcoming and joyful community in which to work.

In addition to her role at St. Luke, Kate teaches private piano lessons to all ages at Mount Olivet School of Music in Minneapolis and Mount Calvary Academy of Music in Excelsior. Originally from Michigan, Kate planted roots in Minnesota while earning her Bachelor of Music degree in music education at St. Olaf College. Before joining the St. Luke staff, Kate had the privilege of teaching music at an international school in northern India for three years.

Kate enjoys playing music with her husband Tom, a cellist.
