“Friends, this is an odd sermon to be giving on Father’s Day: a day when a new father like myself wants to simply to tout the love and joy of being with ones children. I started with “dad jokes” and ended with any parents worst fear, and it’s a rather jarring juxtaposition. But it is the juxtaposition that Laura and I have been living in the safety of our privileged bubble: finding ways to come to terms with life as parents of a newborn child, while other parents are finding ways to come to terms with life without their children.”
