Bridge Pastor Rev. Zach Wilson (he/him)

St. Luke welcomes Zach Wilson as our Bridge Pastor  as we journey to find a new Sr. Pastor.

Zach has served in many different contexts in his twenty-four years of ministry—eighteen as an intentional transitional pastor. He most recently served as transitional pastor at Andrew-Riverside Presbyterian Church in Minneapolis as it transitions from a chartered congregation to a fellowship partnering with the Episcopal Church to work with college students and young adults. Zach views times of transition as generative opportunities for each spiritual community to thoughtfully discern who they are called to be.

Zach grew up in the Eastern Washington town of Yakima, Washington before attending Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois. He met his wife Jennifer Rome there and they attended Princeton Seminary before Jen was assigned to the Saint Paul Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Jen currently serves as the pastor of Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Saint Paul. They have two daughters—Aster (18), and Adelaide (14)—who both attend Saint Paul Public Schools.

In addition to serving in ministry Zach has worked with several local nonprofits—including helping found the writing and tutoring nonprofit 826MSP and chairing the board. He enjoys making and maintaining friendships, playing music (violin, guitar, mandolin) and singing, and cooking. He is looking forward to serving with the people of Saint Luke’s as we discern our next stage in ministry.

We were looking forward to introducing Zach this Sunday, February 4, but Zach came down with Covid.  We are glad he is going to be cautious and begin at St. Luke on February 8th. He will be preaching Sunday, February 11th. Please come then to meet and welcome Zach. The Deacons are planning a special welcome to honor our new pastor. Treats will be served.
