A resounding yes! We believe all people are fully made in the image of God, and we embrace diversity as a gift and a strength. Our members, lay leaders, and staff include people of diverse genders, orientations, and expressions.

When are services held?

St. Luke has a 10:30 a.m. worship service every Sunday that lasts about an hour. Other special services are announced on our website. You may attend in person or via livestream.

Is communion served at St. Luke?

Communion is served on the first Sunday of each month, and all are welcome to take communion with no exceptions.

What do people wear for church services?

Our congregation dresses casually and comfortably: jeans are common, and you’ll see sandals and shorts in warmer weather and sweaters and down vests when it’s cooler.

How do I get to St. Luke? Where do I park?

St. Luke is located at 3121 Groveland School Road in Minnetonka, Minnesota, less than a quarter mile north of Minnetonka Boulevard. We have two parking lots with entrances from Groveland School Road.

  • The upper lot (north driveway, by the church sign) has access to the west door of St. Luke. Use this lot when visiting during the week or for events and services.

  • The lower lot (south driveway, between the church and Groveland Elementary School) has access to the south door. Please use this lot as needed for events and worship services.

Please do! We welcome children in worship, and we offer a range of opportunities for children, youth, and families.

Yes! Please park in the upper lot. The west door has level access to the sanctuary and community spaces, with ramp and lift access to bathrooms and the church office.

What do church services at St. Luke feel like?

Our approach to gathering includes non-traditional worship services that are thoughtfully crafted to be engaging, thought-provoking, and centered on reflection and action. We offer a spiritual experience similar to Unitarian, Episcopal, Quaker and United Church of Christ traditions. Many of our members routinely incorporate meditation and mindfulness practices such as those found in the Buddhist tradition. Recent worship experiences include a “Theology of Broadway” series, which showcases St. Luke’s thriving musical community.

What programming does St. Luke offer for children, tweens, and teens?

St. Luke has an active and growing group of children and youth. We provide year-round Sunday School and special activities, such as our annual Christmas Gift Making Workshop for children and “Fire and Ice” Retreat for youth. We also offer the nationally-recognized “Our Whole Lives” age-appropriate sexuality education program for children ages 6–9 and 10–12.

Are atheists and agnostics welcome at St. Luke Presbyterian?

Atheists and agnostics are welcome at St. Luke and will be in good company. St. Luke is committed to the value of life-long learning, believing there is more value in questioning than in absolutes. St. Luke is more about applying what we can learn from Jesus as we interact with the world than accepting or rejecting specific theological tenets. We welcome questioning, make space for doubt, and encourage intellectual engagement.

What is the St. Luke view on climate change? On science?

St. Luke embraces modern science and actively works to seek justice for all of creation. Our community engages in climate advocacy work and environmental sustainability efforts. We have removed invasive species on our property and replaced these with native plants, trees, and flowers; created rain gardens to collect rain and support the health of our local waterways; installed solar panels on our roof; and hosted educational events, such as “What’s on Your Fork?” with the West Metro Climate Hub.

How does St. Luke engage with the world on social justice issues?

St. Luke collaborates with multiple non-profit organizations to strive for peace and justice. We are committed to acting with compassion and selfless love as the fullest expression of our beliefs. Our social justice includes founding Lakewinds Food Co-op to address food issues, welcoming and advocating for the full inclusion of LGBTQIA+ people in the church, and serving as a Sanctuary Church. St. Luke has long-standing relationships with a range of partners including the Division of Indian Works (DIW), Liberty Community Church, ISAIAH, Beacon Interfaith Housing Collaborative, Nonviolent Peaceforce, and ICA (Intercongregation Communities Association).

The St. Luke community practices radical hospitality toward all children of God. Many of us are progressive individuals from Minnetonka, Wayzata, Plymouth, Eden Prairie, and surrounding communities. Our weekly services are available in-person at our Minnetonka, MN, location and online.
