Library Corner
/Christmas and Advent, Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa
Our church library has books for all ages about the birth of Jesus and the Christmas season, and there are also books about Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and winter—snowflakes and animal tracks in the snow, oh my!
Several of the books are on display on the library shelves; come and take a look!
The Best Christmas Pageant by Barbara Robinson is a favorite for all ages.
Re-Imagining
On Sunday, November 30, guest preacher Rev. Dr. Heidi Vardeman mentioned the 1993 Re-Imagining Conference in Minneapolis, and St. Lukers were instrumental! Rev. Sally Hill was the creator of the conference, and Nancy Berneking was a key contributor. Nancy then edited a book about it all, Remembering and Re-imagining, which is in our church library, along with the cassette tapes from the whole conference. There are also the two Re-Imagining study guides (for Facilitators and Participants) by Carol Castle: Made in Her Image: Exploring New Perspectives in the Bible and Christian History. (These resources can be found in the library’s Theology-Feminist section on the right side of the room.)
Check-out is for three weeks—just sign and date the library card and put it in the little black caddy on the counter. Then please return the item to the black bin just inside the library door within that time frame.
Please contact the office with any library questions. Enjoy reading!
