A monthly men’s breakfast discussion meets the second Saturday of the month, 7:30 am – 9:00 am each month of the year at the Sheraton Hotel, Ridgedale Drive, Minnetonka. The topic for Saturday, September 10 is Understanding Ourselves,Our Parents, and Loved Ones During Late Life Transitions of Aging, Sickness, Dying, and Death – and Creating More Options.

No need to prepare in advance, but for those who wish to read the book by a prize-winning surgeon Atul Gawande, Being Mortal: Medicine and What Matters in the End (2014) is a best-selling study of this process. In early September we will post and email questions about the topic for discussion, a book summary with quotations, and some online video clips about the topic.
**Younger St. Luke men are especially invited not only to explore your own (unlikely) future but also to better understand how to be helpful caretakers for your parents and loved ones with as little interruption of your own life and multiple responsibilities as possible.
