St. Luke’s annual Fire & Ice retreat, for all St. Luke youth in grade 6 and above, is scheduled for Martin Luther King weekend, January 16–19, 2026. Please join us on November 16 for an informational meeting and Q&A for youth and parents in the youth room. We will have information about cost, scholarships, and trip details.

Fire & Ice offers an incredible experience on the edge of the Boundary Waters at the end of the Gunflint Trail. Yes, it’s cold! But the mix of cold weather and the stunning setting creates a winter adventure vibe combined with a warm sense of community. Activities include broomball, sauna (one of our top activities!), cross-country skiing, ice fishing, snowshoeing, hiking, scavenger hunts, music, games, puzzles, and more. Many of our St. Luke youth return year after year to Fire and Ice, with several even coming back after graduating from high school!
