Dr. Miche van Essen

St. Luke is excited to welcome Dr. Miche van Essen from Transmission Ministry Collective. In this all-day program, Miche will lead us in reflection and learning:

  • How faith communities can step into deep, truthful solidarity with our transgender and gender-expansive siblings

  • An introduction to gender-expansive intersectional theology

  • Practical guidance, policies, and structures to create welcoming and affirming environments for transgender and gender-expansive congregants

  • Engage with the history of anti-trans theology in the Church, foundational biblical passages for LGBTQ+ affirming theology, and the importance of moving beyond apologetics

  • Become empowered to implement meaningful changes in our communities of faith

Join us as we continue our journey to “walk the walk” and become faith communities where trans and gender-expansive community members are loved, cared for, and free to share their unique gifts.

Miche will also preach at St. Luke on Sunday, June 1.
