The Bible contains multiple creation stories, each written by different communities living in different cultures and contexts. Rather than picking one story as the “right” one, our holy scripture creates space for multiple—and, at times, contradictory—creation stories to coexist and invites us to wrestle with the unique wisdom and challenges they bring, individually and collectively. In this sermon, Pastor Kristin will explore the power of creation stories, culture, and community, and we’ll hear a special musical piece adapted from “The Creation” by James Weldon Johnson and “Wind Upon the Waters” by Marty Haugen.
