St. Luke’s annual Fire & Ice retreat, for all St. Luke youth in grade 6 and above, is scheduled for Martin Luther King Jr. weekend, January 16–19, 2026.

Fire & Ice provides an incredible experience at the edge of the Boundary Waters at the end of the Gunflint Trail. Yes, it’s cold! But the combination of the chilly weather and the stunning setting creates a winter adventure vibe along with a warm sense of community. Activities include broomball, sauna (one of our most popular activities), cross-country skiing, ice fishing, snowshoeing, hiking, scavenger hunts, music, games, puzzles, and more. Many of our St. Luke youth return to Fire & Ice year after year, even after high school!
