St. Luke’s annual Fire & Ice retreat at the end of the Gunflint Trail, for youth in grade 6 and above, is scheduled for January 15–18, 2027. Youth and parents, please join us for details and info about cost and scholarships.

Fire & Ice offers an incredible experience on the edge of the Boundary Waters at the end of the Gunflint Trail. Yes, it’s cold! But the mix of cold weather and the stunning setting creates a winter adventure vibe combined with a warm sense of community. Activities include broomball, sauna (one of our top activities!), cross-country skiing, ice fishing, snowshoeing, hiking, scavenger hunts, music, games, puzzles, and more. Many of our St. Luke youth return year after year to Fire and Ice, with several even coming back after graduating from high school!
