The Twin Cities are built on the traditional homelands of the Dakota, and this region is home to sites of significance for the Indigenous people who have lived here and still call this place home.

Sacred Sites Tours invite us to learn the history and importance of these sacred sites, to reflect on our own roles in the continuing systems of colonization and extraction, and to develop plans for future action on reparation and repair. Participants move beyond just learning about the history of these places and into a deeper relationship with their own responsibility for honoring, protecting, and repairing our relationship with these places and the Indigenous people who originated here.

Each tour lasts about 4 hours and includes a visit to three sacred sites throughout the Cities. Since starting in 2011, Sacred Sites Tours have offered more than 500 tours to close to 15,000 people.
